History

The Horticulture Entrepreneur Prize was awarded for the first time in 1986. It was introduced in response to the gloomy mood that prevailed in the horticulture sector during the second half of the 1980s.  The prize was designed to stimulate entrepreneurs and help restore confidence. From the very start, the prize received great respect within the sector and far beyond. This recognition lets the winners and nominees know how much they are appreciated. The annual reward for outstanding entrepreneurship brings positive progress to the horticulture sector.
